Continuing Education Class Offerings by Description

Saving Lives on Both Sides of The Call!

First responders are accustomed to prioritizing others over themselves. This 8-hour presentation delves into smashing the stigma of compromised mental health, wellness, and interpersonal understanding. We explore a comprehensive PTSD timeline, covering events leading to PTSD, risk factors, triggers, warning signs, diagnosis, and avenues for seeking help and supporting others in their journey. This session underscores the significance of prioritizing self-care by putting on an oxygen mask on ourselves before trying to help others. By focusing on our mental health and wellness, we aim to increase awareness and better nurture ourselves and one another, ultimately contributing to saving lives on both sides of the call.

Reset It, Before You Regret It!

Whether you're a novice or a seasoned call-taker, this session is designed to reinvigorate your approach. We begin with a brief mental health check-in and then embark on a journey to boost confidence and refine skills. This class focuses on preventing subpar call handling and identifying potential areas of liability. If you're seeking a customer service reset and insights on TTY, EMD refresh, social media do's and don'ts, and valuable free tools to enhance your performance, this class is tailored for you!"

Renovation Time: Rebuilding Your 9-1-1 Foundation!

This session is a journey back to the early days of your public safety career. This session will aim to reset your mental and emotional outlook, underscoring the critical need to prioritize your mental well-being before extending care to others. This session should create or repair the foundation of profound responsibility 9-1-1 professionals have as the voices of reason, not resentment for both callers and responders.

We will also discuss the significance of diligent commitment over mere procedural compliance, offering numerous practical examples of best practices and common pitfalls to avoid. The focus is on instilling confidence in handling situations without fearing litigation and learning how to prevent legal issues effectively. Staying aligned with the mission and proactively countering complacency will be the focus of this game-changing session.

 The Morale-Driven Leadership Approach

This comprehensive class is designed to provide a well-rounded understanding of effective leadership and its direct impact on team morale. We'll explore how the two aspects are interconnected and essential for a thriving workplace. This integrated learning experience lets you understand how leadership and team morale are intertwined. By enhancing your leadership skills and becoming more self-aware, you'll be better equipped to create a positive and productive work environment where effective leadership and high team morale work together to drive success.

DISCover the People-Centered Perspective

The most valuable asset within any public safety organization is its dedicated team. This session centers on the DISC Model of Human Behavior, providing attendees with a valuable 24-question DISC assessment. The focus is cultivating stronger interpersonal relationships by fostering self-awareness and enhancing communication skills. Beyond the outlined topics, we also explore the significance of identifying one's role and responsibilities within the dynamic realm of human interaction.

Topics Include:

  • 5-page DISC human behavior model assessment and overview

  • How to know yourself, know your people, and build better teams.

  • Empathy and Emotional Intelligence

  • Communication Skills and Conflict Tips
